Getting the direction that you want to go in decorating the office or even the home décor is very important to having a successful outcome. Maybe even doing a few rough drawing to where the furniture could be placed even down to the plants and their placement. How will traffic flow and are there some areas that you want to guide people and what placement of furniture or plants will help in doing that. What kind of sunlight is available or not available and what kind of plants are best that will survive? Maybe the atmosphere will not work when it comes to live plants surviving. So what can you do at that point?
If you are talking about an office area, you want to make sure that it is efficient and the décor is something that will work economically and make your clients/customers feel welcomed and relaxed. After her vacation one year to the islands of Hawaii, my wife got a good look at some wonderful tropical living. She was able to experience some good food and some views of paradise that she had never seen before. The views overlooking the beaches with the blue waters of Hawaii and the good looking sand on the beach which felt so good under her feet.
More than anything else though was the bright colors of the tropical flowers and multitude of green colors adoring plants and trees reminding her of a artist rendering that which was just perfect. Yep, she does look forward to another trip but in the mean time, she saw a tree that reminded her of this paradise and that was a Hawaiian Curly Ficus Tree. It just has that tropical look to the trunk and she loves it. I’m glad it’s a silk ficus tree because it wouldn’t have a chance of survival between the both of us. With that, and a couple of other tropical silk plants, she has gotten part of her paradise for now.
So ma
ny people today are so busy from the time they get up, getting the kids off to school, making lunches and cleaning up the mess prior to leaving the home so it won’t be a problem later; but they so many times forget to water the indoor trees. After a full day’s work and running a couple of errands before getting back home where the wife starts dinner and the husband is finishing up paper work, and again, both of them don’t remember to water the trees.
There is a solution to this problem and that is to purchase a couple of nice artificial trees that don’t require any watering; and the leaves won’t turn a yellow color and then fall off onto the floor. One of the most popular indoor trees is the silk ficus tree. It has very nice size leaves and, without a doubt, very realistic in every way. Silk ficus trees come in a few different sizes and with the fullness of beautiful green leaves, which will add to any elegant décor. Silk plants and silk trees are a very low maintenance item and will allow you the freedom to do your regular duties. No more worries about watering and falling leaves; just enjoy a very long lasting beauty that you can be proud of.
S
o you have decided to get a beautiful silk tree and add it to your decor and we know you will be very happy you got it. Depending upon which type of silk tree you got will determine how you should shape it. For a silk bamboo tree. it is pretty much straight up and down while a silk ficus tree will be flared out much more. It is a good idea that if you are not sure of how your new silk tree should be shaped, to look that species up on the internet. This will help you understand what you will need to do for making your silk tree look as natural as possible.
We will give you an idea of how to shape the very popular silk ficus tree. After pulling the tree out of the box, set the tree in an open area giving you more room to move around the tree. This will also give you room to step back and see if you are accomplishing what you want. Start at the bottom of the tree and take the wired leaf branch and slightly bend the branch in a slight arch while still going slightly upward and some other branches can be a little straighter but yet still moving out away from the trunk. The wired branches will hold the shape you put it in. You may need to play with this shaping for a few days until you get the shape you want it. Most silk trees will come without a decorative container, so to help your new silk tree be all it can be, install it into a nice container that will complement both your tree and décor. We have published a blog on how to install a silk plant into a basket on May 20, 2010. On May 8th, 2010 we have one on the installation of a silk tree into a terra cotta type container. We know you will enjoy your smart investment in silk plants and silk trees that need very little maintenance.
What home décor is to one person it is something else to another. No matter what it is, it has to be functional. Some people like lots of space and others like smaller because they don’t like the extra cleaning of the larger space. I would much rather be on the side of “less is more” than be on the over crowded side. It is important just to remember that being functional is much more important than being overly decorated. Take for instance the kitchen. The counter space is much more important for cooking use than for using for décor.
When making your décor comfortable so that you and your loved ones can relax and have the homey feeling, plants are very important and especially the greenery. Having a nice tree that is healthy with beautiful greenery adds so much but sometimes the sunlight is not right and that is when a silk ficus tree might be the way to decorate. Think of it as no watering, no worry of enough sunlight and no dead leaves to pick-up off the floor. You can put the silk tree in whichever spot that is most functional without any worries. That is one of the pluses to decorating with silk plants. You will have very few worries and still a décor that works for your personal needs.
I had an eye appointment a couple day ago to check how I was doing after my surgery and also to schedule my next surgery for the other eye. While waiting to go in to see the doctor, I noticed a silk tree they had near where I was sitting. This silk ficus tree was in a nice basket and stood about 6’ tall. It has been in this spot for a few years (not sure how long) and it was very noticeable that they had not been doing too much maintenance such as dusting or wiping down the leaves. I also noticed that overall, the waiting room and office areas are very clean so they do care about the appearance of their office area.
It was very obvious that clients over the time had been touching this silk ficus tree most likely to check if it was real or artificial. That does not bother me. In fact, that tells me it really grabbed people’s attention and their curiosity. The trunk was a natural trunk (real wood) and had a nice character to it. What bothered me was that they have not taken the few minutes every week or two to straighten branches or dust the nice green leaves. They dust the T.V. that is on the wall, and the small counter top that has the DVD player laying on it, and the floors were clean. You could tell they do care. I know that when they realize that this artificial tree is part of the décor, and by rearranging the branches and leaves along with a quick dusting (when it is done on a regular basis), that that corner will improve by 70%. I am going to make it a point to find out who I should talk to schedule a quick maintenance session. So the rest of you out there, please pay attention to those beautiful artificial plants and silk trees, because just a few minutes a week can and will make a wonderful difference.
The Ficus Benjamina, or more commonly known as the Weeping Fig or Benjamin’s Fig or an even shorter name is “Ficus” tree, is a very popular tree to have growing in a home or workplace. But sometimes it can be a tough one to keep up with when it comes to care. Always picking up the fallen leaves off the floor along with plant food, water and something to help keep the live insects away is a challenge. But I have also heard many people say that if it doesn’t like the spot you put it in, you are in trouble.
If you like this tree that is native to south east Asia and Australia, but like many other people, really don’t have the time to take care of it like they should, there is a very good solution. I encourage you to take a look at the artificial Ficus tree. It is one that when taken minimal care of (dusting), it will look good and last for many years. These silk Ficus trees come in many sizes and you will be able to find the fullness you need to fit into your décor. To even make it more realistic, it is even made with the natural trucks (yes real wood) that are fooling people into thinking that they are real until they get a good close look. To make this Ficus tree look even more realistic, put some leaves in the holding container and one or two on the floor. This silk Ficus tree is a real beauty and will serve you well.
