Sometimes we have to make a choice of what we do or what we want to buy and it is good that we have a choice. We just need to know the facts surrounding our decision so that we can make the economical choice and the way we should go. Take for example, that you are going to be doing some decorating which involves getting 2 or 3 flower arrangements and at least 1 tree. So, I need to know:
- How long will the live flower arrangements last before I have to replace them?
- How long does the average tree last before replacement?
- What is involved in keeping those in good shape?
This is something that you have to ask yourself before making that important decision.
On the average, the real flower arrangement will last one week and then you have the expense of replacing it again. We find that it doesn’t take long for the dollar bills to add up. What about the tree? Well, that totally depends on the person. Does he/she have a big green thumb or is it light green or, heaven forbid, one of those brown ones. Let’s say that it will last at least six months. And, along with the replacement cost, we have spent the time in keeping it watered (or maybe that is the reason it only last 6 months); also, the time of pruning and picking up dead leaves off the flower. Now I want to look at my alternative and what is going on with silk flowers and the artificial trees. The live flower arrangement lasts one week and the silk flower centerpiece arrangements should last about 10 years. But let’s say that we want to change it in 5 years. How many weeks in a year and how many years are we keeping the silk flower arrangements? The live tree lasts 6 months and the silk trees last 10 years, so you have an idea of what you are up against. So pick yourself up off of the floor and get on the internet and find a good quality store that carries those silk flower centerpiece arrangements and the silk trees at a good price. And then relax.
