Producing A Loose And Airy Silk Flower Arrangement

If you are planning to buy some silk flowers and throw them in a vase, you may not get the look that you really want. Flower arranging is not all that difficult but it does take just a bit more planning than that. First of all, the vase or container is going to determine how tall you’re arrangement is going to be, or should be, anyway. You don’t want to have an arrangement that has a 10” tall vase and the height of the overall arrangement being 36” tall or even 16” tall. Plan on the overall arrangement being two to three times the height of the vase you are using or the entire attention is going towards the vase.
Starting with some silk greenery first around the top of the vase will give some holding power for the taller silk flowers you are going to use. By doing this, you will get a better idea of where the taller flowers will look best. If you want a loose and airy look to your silk arrangements, you should be using odd numbers of each variety of silk flower and space them an even space apart. The flowers on the next layer will be taller and should fall in between the flowers below it.
