Successful Party Planning

During the summertime my family hosts some sort of barbecue, party or gala event on a weekly basis. I am the mother of six and grandmother of 22, and as the matriarch, the onus of planning events usually falls on me. I certainly don’t mind the responsibility, but constantly planning for the next event can certainly be taxing.

To that end, I do all that I can to eliminate the need to restock my supplies every week. For example, I make huge trips to the local warehouse store to stock up on plastic utensils, paper plates and non-perishable foodstuffs. Purchasing generic decorations and centerpiece silk floral arrangements that can be used on multiple occasions is another easy way to save time and money. When it comes down to it, successful event planning boils down to preparation and foresight—both of which are developed through practice.

Lovely Centerpieces

I often host dinner parties at my home and there’s nothing better than serving dinner on a beautifully decorated table. When I have guests over, I like to use one of my fancy tablecloths and display a centerpiece of flowers. Unfortunately, since the economy has been so bad lately my husband lost his job.

Because of this, I have had to scale back my decorating tastes. No more fresh flowers every week. As a trade off, I have started using silk flowers. I simply set up my table like usual and replace the fresh flowers with silk flower centerpieces. The silk flowers are just as pretty as the real ones and they last a heck of a lot longer.

Rotating My Silk Flower Arrangements…..

I got this idea from a couple of different things and one was that every 5000 miles we rotate our tires on the car and we rotate stock in stores to keep things fresh. This is done all over the world. So, now I’m doing the same thing with a few of my silk flower arrangements at home. It made some sense to me as I thought about it and it also will help to keep things looking new.

I have four places that I have silk flower arrangements and that is in the entry, the living room, the dining room and the family room. I started doing this rotation about a year ago and at the same time I do the cleaning of the arrangements to keep them looking fresh also. This way I am not having a problem with remembering to clean the silks which I forgot to do a few times. Now, I’m planning to do one other thing and that is to get a new silk flower arrangement and put one of the others out in my storage cabinet and every three months I will rotate that one back in and replace it with one of the other three. Using silk flowers and silk plants gives us many more uses than what the real flora would let us get away with and we are still saving money. I love it!!!

n-4523-whDo you desire to add some flowers to your home décor? Consider a floral centerpiece arrangement to place on the dining room table or the coffee table. There are maybe some other prominent areas in your home that could use a nice floral arrangement.

Take into consideration the style of décor and then choose something that will compliment that style. Also look for a color that you would like to bring out to enhance the overall appearance. Do you want the centerpiece to be a simple and delicate piece or big and bold? Make sure that you compliment the area’s décor and not take away from it by any means.

Is this a short-term arrangement for a special occasion or is this something that will have a long-term placement to enhance the elegance of the décor. For the long term there is no doubt that you will want to use the silk flowers and silk greenery for lasting beauty. You can find out more information on silk flower arrangements on the internet and also in some decoration magazines. Researching this can be fun and very informing, to say the least.

Finding good places to purchase the silk flowers and greenery is not that hard. Craft stores, florists and other specialty retail outlets are available. You can also find many sources on the internet but wherever you decide to purchase your items don’t skip on the quality of the silk flowers. Remember you want this to have the lasting beauty and elegance to enhance your décor.

Gathering around the table for a holiday meal is a time-honored tradition, and creating the perfect tablescape is a big part of creating enduring memories. Centerpiece silk floral arrangements are a great way save money and ensure that your table looks its best for the holidays.

Instead of buying a new floral centerpiece for every occasion, a silk piece can be used for multiple events. Buying a piece with versatile colors, such as white and blue, will enable you to use it year round. You can add a new touch each time you use is with candles or a few seasonal adornments, such as pine cones or mistletoe.
