Getting the direction that you want to go in decorating the office or even the home décor is very important to having a successful outcome. Maybe even doing a few rough drawing to where the furniture could be placed even down to the plants and their placement. How will traffic flow and are there some areas that you want to guide people and what placement of furniture or plants will help in doing that. What kind of sunlight is available or not available and what kind of plants are best that will survive? Maybe the atmosphere will not work when it comes to live plants surviving. So what can you do at that point?

If you are talking about an office area, you want to make sure that it is efficient and the décor is something that will work economically and make your clients/customers feel welcomed and relaxed. Basically, a home is just about the same except you want a living atmosphere compared to a working atmosphere. You really should consider silk trees and silk plants with a touch of color to brighten the area. These artificial plants are very realistic, and over a rather short period of time, they are very economical. A great silk tree to use besides the ever-popular silk ficus tree is a silk palm tree. There are several species with different fullness so that the space will not be taken up needlessly. You want your area to be comfortable, in either case, of the home or office but you want your office to be very efficient. Take a close look at quality silk trees and silk plants online and you will find many choices that may work for you and your decorating project.

Shaping That Artificial Tree To Look Real

The new artificial tree you just ordered is due to arrive and you are looking forward getting into place to help further your décor. If you have not ordered a tree online or have had one shipped to you before, you may find that the box that it comes in is somewhat narrower than you might expect. Most trees that are 8’ and under come in a box that is about 12” square. You might think that they made a mistake because your tree was supposed to be about 3-4’ in diameter. It will be that large as you arrange and move the branches outward.

Depending on what kind of tree you have ordered, will depend on how you shape the branches and leaves. A silk bamboo tree will be straighter upward whereas a silk ficus tree’s branches will have a slight curve out. Most all branches on silk trees have wire in them making it possible to bend them to the shape you desire. The main purpose of ordering that particular silk tree is to present it as close as possible to look like the real thing. Do a little research on the species of this particular real tree and what it looks like in the real world. This will help you to achieve the elegant look you are after.

We know that many people have heard of silk plants before, but many of them drew up conclusions to their final thoughts several years ago. Since that time, they have not looked at them; or did they? I would almost bet that in many cases, they have seen them but mistook them for real plants. Now with that happening, you can rest assured that this has happened over and over again.

This speaks load of the realism that has been achieved by the industry today. The construction of the pedals on the beautiful silk flowers and the greenery of the leaves on the silk trees and silk plants are by far extra ordinary. When people have come in and watered that silk plant or silk tree, that is the biggest complement artificial plants could ever obtain. This has happened more times than you might think. If you are in the group of people that have not taken a closer look at the beautiful world of silk plants and what they can do for your interior be it the home or workplace, don’t wait any longer! There are so many ways that they can be a benefit to you and your interior.

What Size Plant Works In Different Areas

When decorating any space, you need to understand the plant height needed for the areas you want to put them. You don’t want to put a 5’ tree on a table because it would be way to overbearing and, in the same token, you wouldn’t want to put a plant standing 24” in height in the corner on the floor. When dealing with live flora, you sure need to have protection for your tables or floor so they don’t get ruined from moisture, while with silk plants you won’t have that problem.

For a tabletop tree, a good size is 24” to 36” height and, with some silk plants or silk trees you can shape them for that area. Using a silk plant or silk tree, choose one that has a little larger leaf because they are meant to be noticed. In most cases, for a corner area, you would want to choose a slimmer and taller silk tree such as a silk bamboo tree. Using some of these ideas will enhance the elegance of your décor and give you peace of mind. Remember, there are more pluses for using silk plant and silk trees and they will last several times over live plants and will keep their beauty with minimal maintenance.

Artificial Plants Than Can Complete A Room Redecoration

When it comes to decorating a room, it just takes a little bit of thought and the ability to change it if it is not working out. Most of the time people are bound to put more colors in the room than what is needed. From the doorway, look back into the room and see if there are two or three colors that are working together for the contrast and blend. By all means, do not use bold dark colors for the main color. Those dark colors are great for accenting.

Now, for adding an elegant silk flower arrangement, you want to remember that placement is very important just as much as is the colors of the silk flower arrangement. You want the room to be balanced so if you place any silk flower arrangements where you have lots of bulky or heavy furniture, it will look very much lop-sided. Also do not place the arrangement in an area where nothing is going on, because it will look just like a fill-in and not a true decoration. Along with this silk flower arrangement, if room is available, by all means some greenery such as a silk tree, can add a beautiful relaxing atmosphere making the room a complete winner. If you desired a tropical setting, a silk palm tree would be a thing of beauty along with a tropical silk flower arrangement. We know you can design the perfect room for you and your loved ones.

Proper Shaping Of A Silk Tree After Purchase

So you have decided to get a beautiful silk tree and add it to your decor and we know you will be very happy you got it. Depending upon which type of silk tree you got will determine how you should shape it. For a silk bamboo tree. it is pretty much straight up and down while a silk ficus tree will be flared out much more. It is a good idea that if you are not sure of how your new silk tree should be shaped, to look that species up on the internet. This will help you understand what you will need to do for making your silk tree look as natural as possible.

We will give you an idea of how to shape the very popular silk ficus tree. After pulling the tree out of the box, set the tree in an open area giving you more room to move around the tree. This will also give you room to step back and see if you are accomplishing what you want. Start at the bottom of the tree and take the wired leaf branch and slightly bend the branch in a slight arch while still going slightly upward and some other branches can be a little straighter but yet still moving out away from the trunk. The wired branches will hold the shape you put it in. You may need to play with this shaping for a few days until you get the shape you want it. Most silk trees will come without a decorative container, so to help your new silk tree be all it can be, install it into a nice container that will complement both your tree and décor. We have published a blog on how to install a silk plant into a basket on May 20, 2010. On May 8th, 2010 we have one on the installation of a silk tree into a terra cotta type container. We know you will enjoy your smart investment in silk plants and silk trees that need very little maintenance.

Installing A Silk Tree In A Terra Cotta Type Pot

If you have just purchased a silk tree and you want to put it in that beautiful glazed terra cotta pot or you want to re-pot that tree that you have had for a few years, here is a good sturdy way of getting that done. In re-potting that silk tree, you can take it out of the old container and it should be in a container that has a small plastic container of plaster or foam allowing it to stand in place.

You want the silk tree or silk plant to be sturdy after you set it in your container and a good way to do that is to use A B Foam. This can be purchased from some hobby stores and some craft stores and the cost should be anywhere from $20 to $25. Put your silk tree in the new pot and make sure it will stand without falling over. Now if your new container has a drain hole, you should put a piece of tape over it to plug it and then set your silk plant or silk tree back in. Then follow the instructions on the A B foam bottle. Make sure that when you pour the foam mix in, that your silk tree or silk plant is standing straight the way you want it while the foam mix sets up. The A B foam mix does expand about 25 times as much, so don’t mix up a half gallon to put in a gallon container. That could be a problem! We know that your new container will give your silk tree or silk plant a revived look and also add to your décor.

Artificial Plant Décor That Helps Sell An Empty House

Before the housing market fell on its ear, homes were being sold left and right and for top dollars. A home could be put on the market and within two weeks you could have many offers and it would almost seem like a bidding war was going. People were upping the price, which made it nice for the sellers. Now with the market down, homes are much harder to sell and it is taking longer than it has in many years to move that home.

To help sell a house that you are not living in, you should decorate it in some sort of way to make it look like a warm comfortable loving home. Now, that can get a little expensive and that is something that none of us need. You might have a few pieces of furniture that you could use for a short period of time and you may have some friends from church or other organizations that might have a couple of pieces as well. To help the décor and help sell it faster you should have some kind of silk tree and also a few small silk plants decorating important areas, and even a silk hanging plant. It is a well known fact that people feel much more comfortable when some sort of plants are around. It will be very much worth the extra work when the home sells a little faster.

Installing A Silk Tree Or Silk Plant In A Decorative Basket

When you purchase some silk trees or some silk plants, they don’t always come with decorative containers. When you install these silk trees and silk plants, you should make sure that they are secure in the decorative container so it will not tip over and hide the cat. If you are going to use a basket as your decorative container, you can use some 2” thick styro-foam from your local hobby or craft store, cutting out the foam so it will fit inside the basket. Then set the artificial plant in the middle of the foam and cut it out to the size of the plant container it came in. Secure the styro-foam in the bottom of the basket by sticking a u shaped wire through the bottom of the basket into the foam and then bend the wire towards each other and twist the wire together. The foam should not move at this point.

Then put the plant and its container it came in into the hole that was cut out for that container. This gives the silk plant a wider base and makes it more stable. Then take 2 pieces of wire that are about 2 ½ times the width of the basket and bend the wire in a 2” U shape. Now, straight across from the top of the inside container, stick the wire through an opening in the basket, catching at least two strands of the basket. The wire should be long enough to put around the trunk of the plant and twist the wire securing the plant. Do this on each side of the basket. Then you can take some sturdy cardboard and make that the same size as the opening of the top of the basket. Cut the cardboard from the outside edge to the center and then cut the center of the cardboard so there is enough room for the trunks. This will let the cardboard lay flat on top of the wire and the inside container. You will be able to put artificial moss or wood chips finishing off your installation. You should now have a very sturdy silk tree and a happy cat.

Bringing That Drab To Life With Artificial Greenery

You have this one room that is bugging you to death because it really needs something. But you’re not really sure what it is! You close the door and it is out of your mind until the next time you walk in. Maybe all you need is just a little encouragement and some ideas without spending lots of money. So, lets open that door and take a look. It is just a little bland, so let’s add a touch of drama by painting at least one wall with a color that might be in the rug. The color in the rug might be a little darker, but you will be able to brighten it up with greenery and colorful flowers.

Now to add some cheer to the room with greenery, pick out a nice silk tree and install it in a outstanding pot. Place it in one of the corners and watch a great deal of warmth come into the room. As the eyes of the viewer looks at the pot and follows the tree upward and out, it will make the whole room come into view. By adding maybe one more greenery silk plant, you will balance the room and be ready to add a touch of color in the form of a silk flower arrangement. This doesn’t have to be extra large but with a bright color of flowers, it will add lots of cheer. Your room will look outstanding with the silk flowers, silk plant, and silk tree and you will not go overboard on the budget.
