n-4665-whLet’s cover the advantages of artificial plants and flowers:

1. No nasty bugs or insects.
2. No spilling of water trying to keep them looking good.
3. Low maintenance: regular light dusting and a deeper cleaning about every four months.
4. You don’t have to have someone come in and care for the plants while you’re gone on vacation.
5. You can easily change one plant to another when giving a new appearance to the décor.
6. You will same money in the long run due to not buying new plants every 4 to 6 weeks if you’re like me and either under water it or over water it all the time.
7. Silk plants and silk flowers will last for several years with medium care.

The Disadvantages are as follows:

1. Number 3 above; Cleaning lightly on a regular basis and a deep cleaning about every four months.

Now, I was taught that if a score of a ball game was 7 to 1, there is a clear winner; and the advantages have it on this one. So where can you buy them? You can get them at craft stores, florist and on the internet. Don’t bother with the dollar store quality unless you don’t want them to look real or last anytime at all. It has been shown overall that the better quality equals better realism and also last longer.

Making up your own silk flower arrangement centerpiece can be fun for those with the talent and time. For the people that don’t have the time and/or talent, you can get

About 99.8 percent of the people enjoy having plants and flowers around even though some don’t really think about them. I guess it is one of those hidden things in our daily lives. Some people can grow plants without any effort and others have a hard time growing anything,

For those that can’t grow anything, they have been given a great alternative to the living plants and flowers. So, welcome to the world of beauty in artificial plants. Now, here are some ways to keep these silk plants and flowers looking good and fresh for many years.

1. Keep them clean: the unwelcome residues and dust will collect on your plant and make them lose their beauty.

2. Keep them out of the kitchen or as far away from the cooking area as possible. If you do prefer to have plants in the kitchen, be prepared to clean them more often.

3. Avoid the direct sunlight: You don’t want the sun to dull those beautiful vibrant silk plants and flowers.

4. Using a good duster that collects the dust (not spreading it) on a regular schedule is good. Some people use a hair dryer to blow the dust off; and if that is the case, I do suggest that you take them outside.

5. Doing a deeper cleaning on a regular basis is highly recommended to keep the beauty glowing. Plants that have larger leaves can be wiped down with a damp cloth while the smaller leaves might need a different method.

6. Trees are so attractive that we want to keep them that way for our décor. I know of someone that uses a spray bottle with a very mild soap (just enough to cut the residues} and another spray bottle that is just plain water. They give the silk tree a light shake to remove the excess moister and let them air dry.

You will find that by keeping to a regular cleaning program, your silk trees, silk plants and silk flower arrangements will serve you for many years.

Silk Orchids Are The Perfect Floral Arrangement

n-4318-lv-whThere are many different exotic flowers out there to choose from when considering a floral arrangement. Do you want a really full arrangement or a smaller delicate looking piece? Would larger flowers be good or should you go with the smaller ones? How long is the arrangement going to last?

The Bird of Paradise or the Heliconia Lobster Claw has both an exotic and a tropical flare while making up some very nice arrangements. I think I would like to go with a touch of a lighter feeling and the orchids are great for just that. I want something that is going to be elegant while complimenting the décor and that will last for a long time.

With that in mind, I would go with artificial orchids; and there are many types of silk orchids to choose from. Most of them can be found in craft stores and in some floral shops as well. The floral shops are dedicated to the art of the arranging exotic flowers including the beautiful silk orchid. Just to name a few, there is the Dancing Lady silk orchid, Phalaenopsis silk orchid and the Cattleya silk orchid. There are many more available. All of these have a light and delicate look to them and can be made up into great arrangements.

The beautiful live orchid plant is very delicate and requires lots of attention and time to survive. This is one reason that I like the silk flowers; and the realism is just plain outstanding. We have seen this in all aspects of the plant from the base roots, leaves and the stalks of this exotic plant to the exquisite flower. When put together in a simple but elegant arrangement, you will be able to enjoy the orchid in any kind of climate.

So, remember when you want an exotic and delicate look in a nice floral arrangement, it is hard to beat the elegant look of the orchids. Enjoy and have fun with your floral décor.
