Producing A Loose And Airy Silk Flower Arrangement

If you are planning to buy some silk flowers and throw them in a vase, you may not get the look that you really want. Flower arranging is not all that difficult but it does take just a bit more planning than that. First of all, the vase or container is going to determine how tall you’re arrangement is going to be, or should be, anyway. You don’t want to have an arrangement that has a 10” tall vase and the height of the overall arrangement being 36” tall or even 16” tall. Plan on the overall arrangement being two to three times the height of the vase you are using or the entire attention is going towards the vase.

Starting with some silk greenery first around the top of the vase will give some holding power for the taller silk flowers you are going to use. By doing this, you will get a better idea of where the taller flowers will look best. If you want a loose and airy look to your silk arrangements, you should be using odd numbers of each variety of silk flower and space them an even space apart. The flowers on the next layer will be taller and should fall in between the flowers below it. The number of silk flowers used on each layer will be a reduced number while sticking with the odd number of flowers. The arrangement will be beautifully rounded on the top. Filling in with accent flowers and using such things as wheat, cat-0-nine tails or some curly willow tips, trailing off from the top of your newly designed silk flower centerpiece, it will be an excellent addition to your decor.

Arranging A Rich And Dense Silk Flower Arrangement

If you want to fix a rich and dense silk flower centerpiece arrangement I will give you a couple of hints that may help. Grouping similar colors and textures together will give larger visual impact instead of scattering the colors throughout the centerpiece. It will be much better to use larger silk flowers such as roses, large mums and hydrangeas. Use just a few fillers in the silk flower arrangement.

You can start by making your basic circle at the bottom beginning grouping, and then in the middle put a tall flower, and from there you fill in between with groupings of flowers. You can do these groupings in two different ways: 1)much defined groups, or 2) fade from one color to another. You do that by mixing a couple of flowers from one group to another. You should end up with various heights and depths with the tallest flowers in the middle and the shortest on the outside bottom. This will keep the viewer’s eyes moving into your elegant silk flower centerpiece.

There are many times that we go out and get a flower arrangement for a special occasion and the recipients are very pleased with the gift. However, one big problem exists and that is that the flower arrangement wilts, droops and fades off into la-la land. Yes, the memory will last at least for a while unless the gift was given to a mother and then she will remember for many years.

If you would like to give a gift for a certain occasion expressing your feelings, and on top of that, will be a gift that the recipient will be able to use as a nice interior décor piece for many years, silk flowers are the way to go. Many more people than not will be very grateful for your thoughts but will enjoy seeing the elegant silk flower arrangement or silk plant for many years thereafter. So when it comes to any special occasion, take into consideration the gift of silk plants, silk flowers and silk flower arrangements.

Having Fun With Silk Flower Arranging

If you are not a florist or a professional floral designer but you want to get involved in some flower arranging, let’s call it a hobby and have fun with it. Don’t take it all that serious and end up with ulcers that none of us need. It has been stated many times before, that the basic rules of flower arranging are the same for cut flowers and silk flowers. But, there are many other things that you have to watch out for and do when using cut flowers. So, maybe by using silk flowers at least to begin with, you may not be as stressed out which might just make it more fun.

Your container or vase for each silk flower arrangement should be picked with the surroundings of the décor where it is going to be placed. Your finished arrangement should not be, in most cases, higher than 1 and ½ times the height of the vase or container. When choosing you’re dominant and secondary silk flowers, use an odd amount such as 3 or 5 etc. and put the largest and darkest flowers towards the base and the lightest and smallest to the outside edges of your silk flower centerpieces. These are just a few little tips for you, but most of all, have a good and fun time and your elegant silk flower arrangements will turn out great.

Artificial Plants Than Can Complete A Room Redecoration

When it comes to decorating a room, it just takes a little bit of thought and the ability to change it if it is not working out. Most of the time people are bound to put more colors in the room than what is needed. From the doorway, look back into the room and see if there are two or three colors that are working together for the contrast and blend. By all means, do not use bold dark colors for the main color. Those dark colors are great for accenting.

Now, for adding an elegant silk flower arrangement, you want to remember that placement is very important just as much as is the colors of the silk flower arrangement. You want the room to be balanced so if you place any silk flower arrangements where you have lots of bulky or heavy furniture, it will look very much lop-sided. Also do not place the arrangement in an area where nothing is going on, because it will look just like a fill-in and not a true decoration. Along with this silk flower arrangement, if room is available, by all means some greenery such as a silk tree, can add a beautiful relaxing atmosphere making the room a complete winner. If you desired a tropical setting, a silk palm tree would be a thing of beauty along with a tropical silk flower arrangement. We know you can design the perfect room for you and your loved ones.

More Basic Rules When Doing Silk Flower Arrangements

To continue with learning some of the basics of flower arranging that were started in my last blog, here is a little more information on the containers. If you have a large and heavy container, you can go three times the height of the vase and the width of the vase, just don’t make it too tall because it will look like it could fall over. The arrangement should look very balanced.

To add depth and interest to the design, place your silk flowers at varied levels also facing different directions. This will also show all the beauty of your selected flowers. Arrangements that use three flowers of one variety along with taller foliage will be more eye-appealing. This principal is followed in Ikebana, classical Japanese flower arranging. One or two bolder leaves and heavier foliage can hang over the edge of the container which will give the silk flower arrangement a finished appearance. The prior information is just some other added basic rules of flower arranging and we hope that it does help. Working with silk flowers to make your arrangements is easier to work with than live floral and you will be able to keep these arrangements for a much longer time. Smile and have fun with your silk flower arrangements.

For making beautiful decorations for several places such as offices, homes, restaurants, clubhouses and for parties anywhere, silk flowers are a great medium to work with. In many cases, the silk flower arrangements can make a complete difference in the room and the balance will brighten the tables with cheer. If you are just learning, you have found a hobby that will give you great joy and satisfaction.

If you are just beginning to learn about floral arranging, you will need some tools such as wire cutters, glue gun, floral tape, foam, some kind of moss to hide the foam and possibly some floral picks for extending the length of a flower stem. There are many books on flower arranging and it doesn’t make any difference if it is fresh cut flowers or silk flowers, the principals are all the same. You can also take some classes at your local hobby shop or craft stores to learn the basics. You will develop your personal techniques as time goes along, so let your personality shine in your arrangements. The completed silk flower arrangement is just a series of corrections which ends up in a beautiful art piece for the décor. By using silk flowers you will be able to reuse the flowers in another arrangement if they didn’t work out in the one you have done. Good quality silk flowers will only help your silk flower arrangements stand out all the more.

Artificial Water & Silk Flowers Make Good Prizes!

It is always a joy to hear a success story when you are asked for your opinion or some advice on what might be good to do for a gathering of about 30 people for a dinner. Needing to have a little decoration for the tables was their main concern. The question that I had was what kind of dinner party was it, and wanting nothing heavy, just a welcoming home party for a couple.

I suggested getting a nice little artificial water flower arrangement for each table and the colors could vary. Something spring that speaks loads with a welcoming tone would be good and with the artificial water and a good quality silk flower arrangement, it will look even more real making the guest wonder if it is real or not. The dinner party was two weeks away and they got on the Internet and did some looking around. It wasn’t long until they found something that hit the spot. They had a couple of games planned and decided to use two of those artificial water flower arrangements as prizes; and planned on giving one of them to the guest of honor. Was that ever a hit! I was told that 3 or 4 people were caught bending over and smelling the flowers. When they were caught, they just said they thought the silk flowers looked so real and the simulated water just made it all the more real looking. That made me feel good and that is not the first time people have gotten fooled by a good silk flower arrangement.

A Special Thought For Mom On Mothers Day With Artificial Plants

Yes, it is that time of year when the calendar tells us that we should remember mom and all the things she has done for us. We should be doing that without a calendar and that also includes our fathers. Many people buy mom a cut flower arrangement and we know that she enjoys it very much.

Another idea for saying, “Mom, we thank you,” is getting a silk flower arrangement that she can use as a decorating item for her décor. This is not only limited to a silk flower arrangement but could also be a taller silk plant or even a silk tree. It is for sure that she would be thrilled with the low maintenance beautiful gift and it will last for many years unlike the cut flowers. You should know what would be good for her décor and add a nice elegant touch to it. At the same time it will say, “thanks,” for all she has done over the many years. Happy Mothers Day to all mothers, and yes, mom, I am thinking of you even though you are no longer with us.

Changing A Room Décor And Giving A Elegant Touch

You should pay close attention to placement, color, size and the overall look when you’re decorating or changing a room in your home. Blending and contrasting the colors are very important. Don’t make the same mistake many people make by putting too many colors in the room. The colors have to work with each other to make a successful blend. By looking at the room from a point that is further away you should find two or three colors that work really well together. Accent colors should be bold and dark and not the main color.

The finishing touch of a silk tree and a silk flower arrangement is also very important. The impression that you get at first glance counts. The silk tree can grace a corner of the room and be in a nice decorative pot that complements the décor. Don’t make your room lopsided by placing the silk flower arrangement in the middle of the bulky furniture. The arrangement will look like it’s just filling the area if you don’t have much of anything else there. The proper placement and color of your silk flower arrangement is important and should be seen upon entering the room as an elegant touch. Have fun and enjoy your newly decorated room.
