Producing A Loose And Airy Silk Flower Arrangement

If you are planning to buy some silk flowers and throw them in a vase, you may not get the look that you really want. Flower arranging is not all that difficult but it does take just a bit more planning than that. First of all, the vase or container is going to determine how tall you’re arrangement is going to be, or should be, anyway. You don’t want to have an arrangement that has a 10” tall vase and the height of the overall arrangement being 36” tall or even 16” tall. Plan on the overall arrangement being two to three times the height of the vase you are using or the entire attention is going towards the vase.
Starting with some silk greenery first around the top of the vase will give some holding power for the taller silk flowers you are going to use. By doing this, you will get a better idea of where the taller flowers will look best. If you want a loose and airy look to your silk arrangements, you should be using odd numbers of each variety of silk flower and space them an even space apart. The flowers on the next layer will be taller and should fall in between the flowers below it. The number of silk flowers used on each layer will be a reduced number while sticking with the odd number of flowers. The arrangement will be beautifully rounded on the top. Filling in with accent flowers and using such things as wheat, cat-0-nine tails or some curly willow tips, trailing off from the top of your newly designed silk flower centerpiece, it will be an excellent addition to your decor.

Quite some time ago, I had to go get some blood work done for my normal checkup and as I went up to the counter to get checked in and fill out the paper work, I noticed some flowers sitting in a clear glass vase with water in it and the color of the of the arrangement was very striking and elegant. I went over and sat down to fill out the paper work. After I got that taken care of, I took the completed paper work up to the desk and again looked at the flowers. After a closer inspection, I found to my surprise that they were silk flowers and the water that I thought was water was artificial water.
Since that time, I have seen several silk plants that were in the artificial water and I fell in love with that concept. Orchids are such an elegant and yet bold flower and the silk orchids capture that realism and is a great piece to add to any décor. There are several colors and, of course, several different varieties that look so real and vibrant. This story was shared with me by a close friend and yes, these silk orchids in artificial water are very real looking and are enjoyed by many people around the world.
If you want to fix a rich and dense silk flower centerpiece arrangement I will give you a couple of hints that may help. Grouping similar colors and textures together will give larger visual impact instead of scattering the colors throughout the centerpiece. It will be much better to use larger silk flowers such as roses, large mums and hydrangeas. Use just a few fillers in the silk flower arrangement.
You can start by making your basic circle at the bottom beginning grouping, and then in the middle put a tall flower, and from there you fill in between with groupings of flowers. You can do these groupings in two different ways: 1)much defined groups, or 2) fade from one color to another. You do that by mixing a couple of flowers from one group to another. You should end up with various heights and depths with the tallest flowers in the middle and the shortest on the outside bottom. This will keep the viewer’s eyes moving into your elegant silk flower centerpiece.

Why is it that we put a large number of plants or trees in our interior designs? In most cases they are the finishing touches that bring the whole interior together. Second, plants and trees have a way of relaxing our minds, which lets us cope with our everyday busy schedules. The question that many people have had over the past few years is, do I continue with keeping up the maintenance of the live flora such as watering, pruning and picking off dead leaves, or do I make the change to artificial plants which require no pruning, watering or picking up of dead parts.
You may have seen it said a few times that silk plant and silk flowers can save time and money over a short period of time but have not taken that plunge for some reason or other. I know that it takes us time to be convinced of something that is, or was, out of the norm. Artificial plants are, and are becoming, more popular for several reasons. Two of the top reasons being that (1) they are so damn real looking and (2) many people have to touch and smell to make sure and that they give us a little freedom from much of the maintenance that was needed with the live flora. Oh don’t be mistaken. You will need to dust them and, if some leaves get out of position, it will only help by putting them back into place to keep up the wonderful realism that is available with today’s silk plants and silk trees. So take a closer look at the quality of artificial plants that are available. A good place to look is, without a doubt, on the internet.

With all the planning that a person has to do for getting things done for a wedding, it is a wonder that the gray hair doesn’t show up two days before the wonderful date. A big notebook is needed to write down all the different things that has to be done and by that date. You can get another person to help take something like the food to be served and maybe that will help take off a little load but you still need to keep your eyes open to what is going on.
When it comes to the flowers, it is very much in the norm that the bride has some special things done and she has to be abreast to the fact of what flowers are available at that time of the year and if not what is the cost going to be to get them. Flowers can become very expensive with the florist taking care of them and also preserving the keepsake flowers for the bride. Now, there is another way of doing it and it really can be much easier and much less expensive, which every bride doesn’t mind having happen. The use of silk flowers is becoming very popular because they are so realistic and overall easy to arrange. One big factor is that you can start doing the arranging of the silk flowers way ahead of time and by doing just a little bit at a time, it will be much less stress and worry. So why go thru the worries of the last minute cut flower arrangements when you can have the silk flower arrangements all done and have keepsakes for all those that are special to you?
